Treatment options
For typical actinic cheilitis
- Cryosurgery.
- Topical agents: 5-fluorouracil or imiquimod .
- Photodynamic therapy.
For severe actinic cheilitis
- Vermilionectomy with submission of the tissue for histopathologic examination.
- CO2 laser ablation has also been used to treat this condition, usually after the presence of invasive SCC has been excluded.
