Irritation fibroma

- Irritation fibroma is a soft tissue mass in the oral cavity, it represents a focal hyperplasia of fibrous connective tissue in response to chronic irritation or local trauma.
- It is more common in females than males.
- Irritation fibroma usually presents as asymptomatic well defined smooth pink or flesh colored papulonodule.
- It presents mainly on the labial mucosa, tongue and gingiva and are usually <1.5 cm in diameter.
Treatment
- Complete surgical excision followed by histopathological examination is the recommended treatment.
