Instructions

  • Mothers are advised that the risk of a similarly affected infant in subsequent pregnancies is approximately 25%.
  • Manifestations other than heart block are
    usually transient, pacemaker insertion may be necessary
  • Sun exposure Avoidance is recommended.
  • Oral steroids or antimalarials given to the mother in the first 16 weeks of pregnancy may prevent cardiac problems.
  • If suspected , serial foetal echocardiography may be done .

Medical treatment
for skin lesions

  • Low‐potency topical steroids
  • Antimalarials for persistent skin lesions.
